Backlight Photo Festival
Backlight Photo Festival 2011 theme is”Migration and Nomadic Living in 21st Century – Rural Traditions and Urban Hypes” – Nomads, their roots, traditions and contemporary living in a changing environment; – Migration as a multiple layered and deeply rooted phenom ena of civilization and as an individual experience; – Fluctuation, new waves, restlessness and identity games in 21st century urban culture; – Restless and boundless capital interlinked with industrial produc tion and exploitation of nature in the age of globalization;
Specialists in ten European countries are invited to nominate outstanding and challenging positions in a European / global perspective. They are invited to shape the Backlight 2011 database Migration and Nomadic Living in 21st Century – interlinking photography and New Media Art with relevant Urban Arts projects in performance, literature etc.
Artists can submit their view on the theme directly to Backlight 2011 with including project description and the relation to the theme, link to web pages, CV and images (.pdf, .doc, .rtf, .jpg files only). Dead-line for individuals is 15. February 2011.
